Job Training Update

Very briefly, I wanted to let you all know that I survived the training ordeal.  I almost entitled this post, “My Glimpse of Hell.”  You know, fire, brimstone, etc.  The spray we use contains 1,000,000 Schovial Heat Units, and let’s just say, “You definitely do not want to be maced.”  The worst part was the [...]

Job Training

This Friday night/Saturday morning I will be completing levels 1 and 2 training for my job.  I will be learning (amongst other things) radio communication, handcuffing, and mace and baton training.  I will learn self-defense moves, approaches, etc.  For this type of training, one of the experienced officers gets into a “red suit” and you [...]

A Job at Last

Well, here I am sitting in a car getting paid to write this post and listen to Pandora Radio.  Yeah, you can’t beat this.  My new job is in security.  I work for a local company and I am pulling all night shifts this week.  I think I am really going to like this job [...]

Transmission: Manual
Color: Green
I was able to get a good deal on the car and pay for it without going into debit.  (I saved my graduation money and what I made during the summer.)

Stopping for gas on the way back home…

… still [...]

Intermission: Squirrel for Dinner, Anyone?

This is a rather light topic, a hunting trip.
On Saturday small game season was open here in Georgia. We went to Clay Hole Swamp, a wild life management area, which is on part of the Altamaha River. There’s a [...]

Busy and Been Writing

Boy the holidays sure flew by. What with vacations, visiting, and of course eating way too much (but my relatives are such good cooks you can’t stop eating). Anyway, I wont bore anyone with Thanksgiving stuff (or make you hungry ;-).
Yesterday I attended Handel’s Messiah at a church near my home. It [...]

A Close Call

Today my family had a pretty big scare. My younger brother was in the house peeling an orange and holding an air soft pistol when the gun went off even though the safety was on. Somehow the plastic BB hit him in the side of the nose, bounced off and hit him in [...]
